In social media circles, we tend to post our successes and I think we can forget about the very unlovely R word- rejection. I hate to bring it up, I really do. But, rejection can seem like a shameful thing we alone experience while everyone else is sailing from one happy success to the next more glorious one. Let’s not forget others experience rejection, too. You only have to google author rejections to realize that, in the publishing world, rejection is par for the course. And if you experience rejection (-you will-) you are in very good and talented company. It stings. It sucks. But it’s not a bad place to be as long as you keep learning and keep working, and don’t get stuck there. It is a lovely thing to get through the R swamp to the lovely, refreshing and rare (to this beginner at least) YES!
Then, go post it on Facebook.
