Oh, I had soooo much fun making these, so I really hope you enjoy them.  My mom has a fun library of OLD books that have cute vintage graphics in them.  The best part, the copyright is out on some of them.... so I thought I would share just a few of my treasures.

I love handwriting fonts, so naturally, I would have another handwriting font site to share!  Ellie and Ivy are the 2 that are behind "Sugar Frog Font", so give them some comment love and for all their hard work and making these fonts available to use for free.  They do offer them free for Commercial use, as long as you give them credit, but just check out their Terms of Use on the top of their website, and have fun using these fonts in your Custom Blog Designs!

Sugar Frog Fonts

I am really excited about today's font website, I love Amanda's fonts.  She offers free handwriting fonts and Scrapbooking fonts.  Check out the links below.

I get the cutest handwriting fonts at Fonts for Peas! kevinandamanda.com/fonts I get the cutest scrapbooking fonts at Free Scrapbook Fonts! kevinandamanda.com/fonts

So I took a long shot and emailed Amanda, because I wanted to ask her a few questions about her fonts and how she got into making fonts.  I was so thrilled when she got back to me and answered my questions, so I hope you enjoy my mini interview with Amanda that is a mix of answers she gave me and some from her website.

How did you get into making fonts and what software do you use?
I have always loved handwriting. The first computer disc I ever bought was a disc with 300 handwriting fonts. It was $20, and I saved my babysitting money for weeks to buy it! Once I learned there was a program where you could *make your own* handwriting fonts, I knew I had to do it. I had always wanted my handwriting as a font. I started asking everyone I knew to write their alphabet for me so I could turn it into a font. But that wasn’t enough- I wanted more! :) I posted on the message board “Two Peas in a Bucket” asking people to send me their handwriting and I would send them a font back for free. I got so many wonderful samples, I knew I had to share the fonts I’d made with others who loved fonts just as much as I did. I created the site “Fonts for Peas” as a way to share those fonts back. I still love making and sharing these fonts freely today!

Here's a link to the software I use, Font Creator Pro:  http://www.high-logic.com/visit/472542.html

What was the first font you made?
The first font I ever made was my handwriting:  http://kevinandamanda.com/fonts/fontsforpeas/amandas-hand/

Did you have any formal training in making fonts or in design?
Because of the webpage, I get asked a lot about my education background or what I do for a living. I went to a private grammar school, I was home schooled in high school, and then I went to community college for 2 years and then I got married! :) Shortly after we first got married I started working in a scrapbook store and taught classes for several years. Right now I'm doing a little photography (and would like to do more!), but mostly just enjoying being a stay at home wife. :) I've never had any formal training in computers / web design / photography, etc. Most of what I've learned is just by trial and error. :)

What is your favorite font (yours or not yours), if you HAD to pick one?
I don't know if I could pick just one, but here are a few of my favs! :)  http://kevinandamanda.com/fonts/fontsforpeas/tag/favs/

I found Ray Larabie's website only last week, and I was amazed!  He is sooo talented.  He offers free fonts, and fonts that are available for purchase.  I am a sucker for free, but don't over look the stuff that he sells, it is quite affordable.

Here is a link to his collection of Free fonts at MyFonts.com:

Here's a little information about the man behind Typodermic Fonts (All of his free fonts are FREE for Commercial Use):
"Ray Larabie is a Canadian font designer who lives in Nagoya, Japan. Ever since he was a child, he was always obsessed with fonts. In the late 1990s, he created hundreds of free font families and released them on his Larabie Fonts website. In 2001, he went pro and started Typodermic fonts. Over 200 font families later, Ray's library of fonts continues to grow."

These are a few of my favorite fonts from Typodermic Fonts:

Miss Tiina's website was a fairly new find for me, but a very pleasant find!  I have already featured her once for one of her digital freebies.  She offers free fonts that are ohhh so cute!  Please check her site out, I know you will love it!

These are some of my favorite fonts from Miss Tiina:

I really love these sites, they have great and not so great stock photography, but the best thing about them, is that they are FREE for commercial use.  They are my favorites, but here are a few more:

http://www.public-domain-photos.com/

If there are any others that you use, feel free to comment and share :)

I am really excited to share this with you! I have NEVER even attempted to digital scrapbook before, and I really don't know why. Anyway, I have always thought it would be fun to try my hand at it and of course I wanted it to be my OWN design.... so why not make my own kit! I really hope you enjoy it. For you that are pros at digital scrapbooking (unlike me :), I am sorry in advance if I didn't make the kit right.... I don't really know how they are traditionally made, so I just did it the way I assumed they might be :p

This Digital Kit is free for Personal and Commercial Use.  Files are NOT to be sold as is.  They MAY be used to create items to be sold, but may NOT be sold by itself in it's original form.  I do very much appreciate a link back and/or credit, but it is not required.  Thanks!

(This is my new baby! Isn't he sweet??)
